2005
This
year we have gone through important developments. Having taken part and
won in several national and international competitions, we exceeded our
wildest expectations. We were also able to increase the number of our business
partners and staff and planted the “seeds” that will hopefully
result in a new shop focusing on unique one-of-a kind jewellery. We hope
that next year we will be able to welcome our customers and visitors in
our new exclusive shop.
| Though a little belated, we celebrated Splendor’s fifth birthday with a little party. We hope to top the last 5 years’ success with even more in the future.

We took part in the “Wedding Exhibition” at Hungexpo for the first time. Interest in it was so huge that we could not eat for days…due to lack of time. |

The month of March was a very busy time for Splendor. First we took part in the Hungaro Exhibition (like the year before) but we were sad to note that it only focused on the large distributors and mass or series production.
|
The Jewels: Everlasting Joy jewellery competition to place at the Hungaro, where creative goldsmiths from all over the country competed with each other in creating the best brooch. Since nearly none of the items met the requirement of mass-producibility the judges did not grant a first prize, but the staff of Splendor won two second prizes in the under-30 category as well as a third prize. |
|
Articles covering the event and us appeared in Reggel (daily newspaper) and on the Index website. |

The Hungarian Goldsmith Association organized its first annual competition. The aim of the society is to form a collective group of innovative, original goldsmiths who make custom jewellery for mutual support. The Spendor team again came
away with the 1st prize thanks to László
Mikolcsó’s ”Curl” ring. Ágnes Kertész
won 2nd place with a pendant entitled ”Clairvoyant”
while Daniel Nagy received 3rd place (tie) with his
”Champagne” ring. |

During the holiday season we recieved several invitations to exhibitions, exclusive events, benefit dinners to add a bit of color and elegance affairs. We were flattered by these invitations and were happy to be able to report back to our friends about our interesting encounters with the rich and famous. |
|
To close the year, HVG
a weekly business magazine published an article on the state of the
jewellery industry, and used our company to illustrate the difficulties
encountered by those goldsmiths who specialize in unique custom-made
jewellery, the national situation and possibilities. |
